Design and planning began for the construction of a new fire station located at 7809 Cooper Road in Montgomery in 1959. The fire station was built by the Montgomery Community Fire Company. The Sycamore Township Fire Department operated out of this fire station from 1995 to 1996, before the current station on Kenwood Road was completed. The building has since been remodeled and is used by local businesses.
