The Sycamore Township Fire Department is staffed with both Career and Part-Time professionals. We are a fully paid department, staffing both of our fire stations 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. The men and women who proudly represent the Sycamore Township Fire Department are highly trained, dedicated, committed, and proud to serve the citizens and visitors of Sycamore Township. |

James Michael Hill (January 1, 1961- November 5, 2013), a 28 year fire service veteran passed away on November 5, 2013. Mike was hired on with the Sycamore Township Fire Department in 1997 as a firefighter/paramedic and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Paramedic in 2004. He held that position until his passing. Mike leaves behind his wife Tara and two daughters, Mallory (11) and Miranda (12). Mike started his fire service career in Reading in 1985 where he volunteered his time with the Reading Fire Department. He also worked with the Deer Park Fire Department from 1994 – 2013. Mike was an avid golfer and NASCAR enthusiast who enjoyed time with his family and friends. Mike was an integral part of the Sycamore Township Fire Department and he will be missed. His smile and sense of humor were a comfort to those who knew and respected Mike. Lieutenant James Michael Hill was honored with a firefighter’s funeral on November 11, 2013 and laid to rest at the Reading Cemetery.
